Some of the most important choices we make are the ones we make every day.
At LIFE PURIFIED, we believe personal care deserves more thought than we often give it. The soap we reach for every morning, the oil we massage into our hair, the moisturiser we apply after a bath, or the products we use on our face, scalp and body become such familiar parts of everyday life that we rarely stop to think about them.
But these ordinary choices matter. Personal care begins early and stays with us through childhood, adolescence and adulthood. The products and routines may change as we grow, but caring for ourselves remains part of our everyday lives.
That simple thought lies at the heart of LIFE PURIFIED. We believe that when something becomes part of our lives every single day, we should understand it well enough to choose thoughtfully. Not because everything conventional is harmful, or because everything natural is automatically better, but because what we use repeatedly deserves our attention.
And the more we thought about these choices, the more we realised they are not only about us.
Our children grow up surrounded by our choices
A child's relationship with personal care begins much before they consciously start choosing products for themselves. They grow up surrounded by what we use — the shampoo in the bathroom, the moisturiser on the dressing table, a face cream, perfume, lipstick or hair product. As children grow curious, and particularly as they approach adolescence, it is natural for them to observe, imitate and experiment. Sometimes that means casually reaching for products that were never really intended for their age or needs.
This can happen long before they understand ingredients, suitability or why something appropriate for an adult may not necessarily be right for them. It made us look at adult personal care differently, because what we bring into our homes inevitably becomes part of the personal-care environment our children grow up in.
As children move into adolescence, this becomes even more relevant. Their skin and bodies are changing, they become more conscious of their appearance, and they begin exploring skincare, haircare, fragrances and beauty products for themselves. Their choices at this stage can be influenced by what they see at home, what their friends are using and, increasingly, what they encounter online.
We believe these early years offer an opportunity to give young people something far more valuable than a skincare routine — an informed and sensible relationship with personal care. We want them to understand that caring for themselves does not have to mean using more and more products or following every new trend. Personal care can be simple, appropriate to their age and needs, and chosen with understanding.
That responsibility begins with us as adults. If we want our children to make thoughtful choices when they eventually begin choosing for themselves, those choices need to become familiar to them long before that moment arrives. Children don't only use the products we deliberately choose for them; they also grow up surrounded by the products we choose for ourselves.
This belief has shaped the way we think at LIFE PURIFIED. Our approach to safer, more considered personal care does not begin or end with children's products. It begins with the everyday personal-care environment we create for ourselves and our families.
And when we started exploring what a more thoughtful approach to personal care could look like, we found ourselves turning towards one of India's richest knowledge systems.
Why Ayurveda?
India has inherited an extraordinary understanding of plants, herbs and oils and their place in human wellbeing. Ingredients such as Manjistha, Yashtimadhu, Brahmi, Bhringraj, Neem and Turmeric have been part of traditional approaches to skin, hair and wellness for generations.
Ayurveda appealed to us not simply because it is natural or because it is ancient. What drew us to it was the depth of knowledge behind it — generations of observation and understanding of botanicals, their properties and their uses.
We believe this knowledge has an important place not only in our past, but also in the future of personal care. But believing in Ayurveda also confronted us with an obvious question: if it has so much to offer, why isn't it a natural choice for more of us?
We live in a fast-paced, result-oriented world. Today's consumers are informed and exposed to sophisticated personal-care products from across the world. We expect products to address specific concerns, and we value convenience, consistency, elegant textures and products that fit comfortably into modern routines. Importantly, we expect results — and we don't believe anyone should have to apologise for that.
Yet Ayurveda is sometimes perceived as a choice that comes with compromise: traditional rather than sophisticated, gentle rather than high-performing, or slow rather than result-oriented.
We couldn't quite accept that.
Why should choosing Ayurveda mean lowering our expectations? Why should an Ayurvedic product have to feel old-fashioned to remain authentic? Why should nature and science have to sit on opposite sides?
Over time, the question for us changed from simply asking “Why Ayurveda?” to something that has come to define LIFE PURIFIED:
Why not Ayurveda?
Why shouldn't Ayurvedic personal care be contemporary, sophisticated and high-performing? Why shouldn't it offer the textures, experience, convenience and targeted care that today's consumer has come to expect? And if modern science can help us work with Ayurvedic and botanical actives in newer and more effective ways, why shouldn't we explore those possibilities?
That thinking became the foundation of what we call Advanced Ayurveda.
Where Ayurveda meets modern science
We never wanted science to replace Ayurveda. We wanted to understand what could happen when the two worked together.
That curiosity led us to explore technologies such as plant stem-cell technology, nanotechnology and plasma technology. These open up newer possibilities in the way we work with botanical actives and allow us to explore formulation, delivery, stability and product experience through a contemporary scientific lens.
For us, however, technology has to earn its place in a LIFE PURIFIED product. We don't use it because it sounds impressive on a label. We use and explore technology where we believe it can serve a genuine purpose and help us formulate more intelligently.
This is also why we don't see our work as an attempt to “modernise” Ayurveda by changing what makes it Ayurveda. We see it as bringing the depth of traditional knowledge into conversation with the possibilities of contemporary science. Ayurveda gives us our foundation, while science gives us new possibilities to explore.
That meeting point is what Advanced Ayurveda means to us.
Purity. Potency. Performance.
These three words sum up what we want our products to stand for.
For us, Purity begins with being thoughtful about what goes into a formulation and why it needs to be there. Potency means respecting ingredients and actives for what they can genuinely contribute, rather than including them simply because their names look attractive on a label. And Performance reflects something we feel strongly about — choosing Ayurveda should never mean lowering your expectations of personal care.
Ultimately, we don't want people to choose Ayurveda despite the alternatives. We want to create products that make choosing Ayurveda feel relevant and natural to a modern consumer — products that make someone genuinely wonder, “Why wouldn't I choose Ayurveda?”
The people behind LIFE PURIFIED
As LIFE PURIFIED has grown, we have also realised that what we build matters only as much as how we build it.
Behind every product is a team of people with different backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives. Women form an important part of our workforce and our journey, and we are proud to create opportunities for transgender professionals to work, contribute, learn and grow alongside us.
For us, inclusion isn't about putting someone in a photograph or adding a statement to our website. It is about creating a workplace where people genuinely belong, where they are respected for what they bring, and where contribution matters more than the labels society may place on someone. We want people who become part of LIFE PURIFIED to have the opportunity to take responsibility, develop their skills, earn, learn and grow with dignity.
Our team also extends beyond those who work with us every day. Artisans, suppliers, partners, formulators, manufacturers and many others contribute to what eventually becomes a LIFE PURIFIED product. There are many hands and minds behind every bottle, jar and bar that reaches a customer, and the experience of the people who help us create these products matters to us too.
This same thinking shapes the way we approach sustainability and responsible growth. We don't claim perfection, because there will always be things we can do better in the way we formulate, source, manufacture, package and minimise waste. For us, responsibility isn't a box that can ever be permanently ticked; it is the willingness to keep examining our choices and improving them wherever we can.
Four years later, our purpose has only become clearer
What began with thinking about the products we use every day gradually became something much bigger. It made us think about the environment our children grow up in, led us towards Ayurveda, and then made us question why traditional knowledge and modern science are so often treated as opposing worlds.
Today, the question that excites us as a team is larger still: what could Indian skincare become if Ayurveda were seen not only as an extraordinary knowledge system inherited from our past, but as one capable of helping shape the future of personal care?
For us, that means helping make thoughtful personal-care choices more familiar in our homes so that the next generation develops a sensible relationship with what they use. It means creating Ayurvedic products that feel entirely at home in a world of sophisticated global skincare, without asking consumers to step backwards in experience or expectations. And it means allowing science and Ayurveda to complement one another rather than forcing them into opposing camps.
We hope to see Ayurveda chosen not merely because it is ancient, natural or Indian, but because it is relevant to contemporary life, intelligently formulated and capable of delivering what people expect from modern personal care.
That is why LIFE PURIFIED is not about taking Ayurveda back to where it once was. For us, the more exciting question is where Ayurveda can go next.
We want to explore that future thoughtfully — questioning before following trends, using technology with purpose, making more responsible choices as we grow, and building an organisation where people from different walks of life can genuinely belong and contribute.
We are still learning and still building, and we know there is a long journey ahead. But our purpose has become clearer with every step: to make thoughtful personal care easier to choose today, to help make those choices more natural for the generations that follow, and to demonstrate that Ayurveda does not have to choose between its roots and its future.
Together, as Team LIFE PURIFIED, that is the journey we have chosen to take and the larger vision we continue to work towards:
Defining Indian Skincare for the World.
